Allllllrighty. So. At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to post regularly on here and just to start making more of an effort. If you were to take a look through my last couple posts you will find that I did not do that. I don’t really have any excuses and I’m actually pretty disappointed in myself. My motivation took a bit of a nosedive and my stress levels went way up, for reasons I don’t really know. Sometimes things just happen like that ya know? HOWEVER, despite my lack of posting on here, I did a pretty good job about posting on my Instagram (feel free to check it out, it’s still relatively fresh but I think I’m starting to find my aesthetic, at least for now haha). So, I’m pretty happy about that.

I also read a shit ton of books. No joke. Keeping in mind that I’m currently in the middle of winter quarter my last year of college, that’s absolutely insane!!! On top of that, the average star rating I had was just about 4 stars. So, this ended up being a pretty damn good reading month in my not so humble opinion.
Just as a review, here are the books I wanted to read in January:
Now drumroll please.

I know you’re all on the edge of your seats. Here are the books I actually read (or listened to… consumed might be a better word but whateva) in January:

Even the Darkest Stars – Heather Fawcett ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Adulthood is a Myth – Sarah Andersen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shadowshaper – Daniel Jose Older ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (audio)

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda – Becky Albertalli ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (audio)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – J.K. Rowling – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Gray Wolf Throne – Cinda Williams Chima ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Belles – Dhonielle Clayton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (audio)

Sky in the Deep – Adrienne Young ⭐️⭐️.5 (audio)

The Kiss of Deception – Mary E. Pearson ⭐️⭐️.5
So, if you are unable to count to 10, I ended up reading a total of 9 books this past month!!! Out of the books I had placed on my TBR I ended up reading everything except Red Winter and Slaughterhouse-Five, though I started both of them. I re-read a couple of books as well. I re-read HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which was amazing to no one’s surprise, and The Kiss of Deception.
Now, The Kiss of Deception will most likely be getting a review from me so look out for that, but I would just like to mention now that my previous rating was 1 star and I DNF’d it the first time. Reading it this second time and actually finishing it I ended up giving it a higher rating. It’s still not a good rating but the last half of the book I enjoyed quite a bit so I’m considering continuing the series to see if the rest of the books are better than this first one.
That’s all for today. What did you end up reading in January?
