Hey hey hey my Hallow-homies!

Over the past couple months my reading has gone to absolute shit. If you didn’t see my September Recap, I read one book last month. ONE. What has become of me???? Why am I in such a bad slump?
I feel like I can never figure out the reason for my going into slumps. I know for some people their reading slumps are caused by reading a really good book. However, I haven’t read a really good book recently. Other than Harry Potter, but I hardly think that series counts since I’m re-reading it for the 20th time. Regardless of what has caused my slump, I have decided to do something about it.
I decided relatively recently (like a couple months ago) that setting TBRs for myself don’t really work. I’m a mood reader, so I am terrible at sticking to TBRs unless they are full of a bunch of options rather than a few books I feel like I NEED to read. However. My abysmal reading habits the last couple months have forced my hand. I have created a set TBR for October in the hopes that it will force me out of my slump and back into a reading mood.
As many many other book bloggers, instagrammers, and general readers do, I like to set the books I read around a theme based on the vibes or aesthetic of the particular month or season I’m in. I like my reading to fit the weather and the general mood. This means that I have chosen Halloween-y books, for the most part, for my reading this month!
The Books:
ARCs (Top Priority since I suck and I’m super late on them. I blame my slump…)

Dear Haiti, Love Alaine – Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite (CR)

The Memory Thief – Lauren Mansy

Steel Crow Saga – Paul Krueger
Non ARCs
Physical

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – J.K Rowling (CR)

Camino Island – John Grisham

Pumpkinheads – Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks
Audiobook

A Lady’s Guide to Etiquette and Murder – Dianne Freeman (CR)
E-Book

Rebecca – Daphne du Maurier
So, there you have it! It’s quite a lot of books. But I find myself reading more the more I force myself to, which is pretty convenient.
What’s on your TBR for this October? Any fun spooky or witchy reads?
Happy Reading!
